Following a half million-dollar renovation and hiring of successful executive Chef Pedro, the Island View Restaurant opened its doors on April 1, 2014. The fine dining restaurant sits on the sixth floor of the Lani Kai and offers a twist of Italian specialties, a raw bar, and Asian and American influenced seafood dishes.
The interior of the restaurant is designed to show off its best feature–aside from the delicious food–the view! It’s nothing short of spectacular. Whether you are seated at the bar, at a table or in a booth, you can see the vast expanse of water and the white sugar sands of Fort Myers Beach.
The restaurant is the brain-child of three very different men who collectively have decades of experience–Bob Conidaris, affectionately known by many as Mr. C, owner of the Lani Kai for nearly 40 years; Larry Puccia, General Manager of the resort for the past 15 years; and Lani Kai’s celebrated restaurant manager, Executive Chef Pedro.
Chef Pedro’s Italian/Asian/Hispanic culinary background is evident in the restaurant’s new design and menu. It features a fresh take on Italian-American cooking, utilizing fresh seafood from the Gulf, as well as made-from-scratch recipes that have been passed down through years of experience managing restaurants on Fort Myers Beach, including Sun Deck and the new Sabal Palms Restaurant on the first floor of the Lani Kai Island Resort. “We’re offering great authentic Italian dishes that are reasonably priced in nice, large portions. All recipes are original, well prepared and continue to bring seafood purveyors and Italian cuisine searchers back to Island View.
The Island View features a rare wood-burning oven imported from Italy with only 15 of these grills residing in the United States. All dishes are made-to-order, and cook much faster, roasting at 750 degrees of all-natural heat. Try a sampling of the many Italian dishes like calzones, stuffed eggplant, gourmet flatbreads, and pizzas. $5 Dollar Wood Fired Pizzas is one of our most popular deals which get beach goers to visit us and they are instantly hooked by the wide variety we have to offer.
You can enjoy a wide range of locally caught fresh seafood at our raw bar! These include fresh oysters, clams, shrimp, crab claws, octopus, lobster, and much more! All of the seafood at Island View is ordered daily and prepared under the close care of Chef Pedro.
